Find out how my son and I saw "Men in Black 3" early before the 11/30 DVD Release Date #SEEMIB3

We had a ball watching MIB3 early on Vudu before the DVD release

Thanks to Walmart and Vudu.com, my son and I had a early MIB3 movie screening in our home...

Back on October 27th, I wrote a blog post telling everyone about how "Men in Black 3," staring Will Smith, is scheduled to be released on DVD on this Friday, November 30, 2012, but I knew a way to see MIB3 in the comfort of our homes before the actual DVD release date.

The Buy Redeem Watch MIB3 pre-purchase option is only available at Walmart

Back in October, I went to my local Walmart store to pre-purchase the MIB3 DVD box (see photo above) for the same price I would have paid if I had bought the DVD on the release date. This pre-purchase option came with a FREE Vudu digital version of the movie that was available to stream online starting on November 16th.

I will also get a hard copy DVD of the movie mailed to me on November 30th. This MIB3 pre-purchase option is available only at Walmart stores.

Another benefit of using Vudu is that you get a FREE movie credit when you signup.

Since I use my Roku device for streaming movies to my TV, I added the Vudu channel to my device lineup and then my son and I were all set to watch the movie.

Using the Vudu channel on my Roku, I navigated to the "My Movies" section which list the movies that I own and clicked on the "MIB3 Digital Bundle" selection as shown in the photo above. The screen gave me two options - one to watch the movie and the other to watch the special footage features that go behind the scenes for the making of the movie.

Just a note that since I own MIB3 on Vudu, I can stream the movie anytime I want, as many times as I want - this is not a rental. So if my son wants to take the DVD of the movie with him to my sister's house or to camp, I can still watch the movie using Vudu when ever I want.

Guess who dressed up as "Agent J" for our special movie viewing?

My son totally got into the spirit of the evening my dressing up to do his best impersonation of Will Smith's character "J" - cute, isn't he??? We had prepared for the screening by renting the first two movies so we would be all set for MIB3.

The movie streaming on Vudu.com was wonderful - it looked just like I was watching the movie on DVD.

Hello 1969!

MIB3 - the final journey...
MIB3 takes place 14 years after the first movie. Now, Agent J (played by Will Smith) and Agent K (played by Tommy Lee Jones) are getting on each other's last nerves as partners. Agent K never seems to be happy and Agent J cannot figure out what's wrong with his partner.

As the Men in Black are going through their relationship issues, somewhere is outer space, the villain Boris The Animal (played by Jemaine Clement) has concocted an evil plan to break out of his maximum security prison on the moon that was constructed just to hold his supreme evilness.

Now that he is free, he is coming to earth to get vengeance on the one man that sent him to jail - Agent K. He plans to turn back time to 1969 when he was captured to make sure things go his way this time - and Agent K senses that something is not right which is way he has been acting so strange.

The Vudu streaming of MIB3 was totally clear, like playing a DVD

When Agent K is sucked back into time, Agent J must follow him back to 1969 to work with a young Agent K (played by Josh Brolin) to save his partner's life - and also find out a secret that Agent K has kept from him for 14 years.

MIB3 ties up a lot of loose ends from the first two movies while giving the viewer some of the best movie visual effects ever seen.  I don't think this was the best of the three MIB movies.  It is hard for actors to go back and reprise roles after so many years have passed since the last movie. There are moments in the movie that are so silly they made me burst out laughing.  And the end actually brought a tear to my eye. The way MIB3 is setup, it is obvious that this will be the final journey for Agents K and J and a 15 year movie franchise that made a lot of people's day.

My son could be the next Agent J - in 7 years :)

Then again, maybe like "The Amazing Spider-man," they will make more MIB movies with different actors.  If they wait 7 years to make another movie, I told my son he could play Agent J - he is totally game for that ;)

I know I and my son are not the only ones who have busy schedules. I wish we could see every movie when they are first released in theaters, but there just does not seem to be enough hours in the day for all the activities I wish we could do. That is why I love to see movies when when they come out on DVD. And one of the biggest blockbuster movies of the year is coming to DVD - Men in Black 3.

MIB3, staring Will Smith, is scheduled to be released on DVD on November 30, 2012, but I know a way to see the movie in the comfort of your home before the actual DVD release date!!!

All you have to do is go to your local Walmart store and pre-purchase the MIB3 DVD box for the same price you would pay if you bought the DVD on the release date. Your pre-purchase will come with a FREE Vudu digital version of the movie that you can view streaming online starting on November 16th plus a hard copy DVD that will be mailed to you on November 30th. This MIB3 pre-purchase option is available only at Walmart stores.

At my local Walmart store, the pre-purchase DVD boxes for MIB3 are available right along with the regular newly released DVD's. My Walmart store had two pre-purchase versions of MIB3 available - the basic MB3 DVD and the MB3 Blu-Ray/DVD combo Pack. The pre-purchase box contains a paper dvd with instructions on how to activate the digital version of the movie.

New Vudu Subscribers get a FREE MOVIE CREDIT!!!!

Activation on the Vudu website is very easy - just go to the Vudu MIB3 Redemption Page and enter the redemption code that is located on the paper DVD. You will first have to create a Vudu account if you don't already have one.  If you don't have an account, you will get a FREE movie credit after you sign-up.  Also when you signup for a Vudu account you don't have to enter any payment information. So when the payment page pops up, just skip it. 

The physical MB3 DVD will be mailed to you...

After you enter the MIB3 redemption code, you will be asked for an address to which they will ship the physical DVD.  After you enter you address information, you are all set.  The physical DVD will be mailed to you by the release date of the movie and you are all set to watch the movie online on November 16th.

My Roku is all set for MIB3...

There was one last step that I had to do to be ready to watch the movie. Since I will be streaming the MIB3 movie to my Roku device, I added the Vudu channel to my device lineup.  Now I am all set for November 16th, plus I now have a $5.99 credit so I can watch a new release movie of my choice - SWEET!!!

One more thing that I had to check out at Walmart to get ready for our MIB3 viewing night was the Walmart Sunglasses aisle.  Dark Sunglasses and MIB3 just go together :)

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Swingset Mamas "Swing, Dance and Sing" DVD - CONTEST ENDS 7/20 (CONTEST CLOSED)

"Swing, Dance and Sing" along with the Swingset Mamas for Total Fun

Last month, I attended a blogger event at Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield where I met a very cool mom named Marlowe Bechmann.  Marlowe was entertaining the kids at the event by singing jamming songs. Both Marlowe and her music partner Lizzle make up the mom band called Swingset Mamas.  These Mamas are some definitely cool and talented ladies that know how to rock-and-roll and entertain a crowd.

Marlowe asked if I would like to review their DVD called "Swing, Dance and Sing".  This DVD has a little something for preschool kids all the way up to my son who is a tween at 10 years old.  This was a review that I truly enjoyed because for 49 minutes, I got to be a kid again and act silly dancing and singing along to the music.

The music on the "Swing, Dance and Sing" DVD is entertaining and educational.  The music encourages kids to eat right, read books, wear their sunscreen, take a bath when they are dirty, and clean up their toys and dirty clothes - all while dancing around and being silly.  I totally enjoyed the song on how to get dressed since my son still needs a lesson or two in that area. My favorite song on the DVD is "The Colors of Rainbow" that teaches kids colors and eating right while dancing to a Caribbean beat and the best video on the DVD is the "Sunscreen Lotion" song where everyone is having fun riding surf boards.

For older kids and adults, the DVD contains special features on how the "Swing, Dance and Sing" DVD was made.  Since kids these days are into making their own videos, these special features can teach kids about coming up with a video concept, casting, camera angles and setting up video scenes.  The DVD also contains a CD sampler of 5 Swingset Mamas songs.

The Swingset Mamas "Swing, Dance and Sing" DVD is available for purchase on Amazon.com and on the Swingset Mamas website along with their CD's.  While on their website, you can also see a schedule of where they will be performing and also book them to perform at your event.
