FREE DSO Community Concerts - Detroit, Monroe, Waterford, Sterling Heights - 9/20, 9/22-9/23

Free seat reservations available online now...

For the eighth consecutive year, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) will perform four free community concerts to kick off its new season at venues across Metro Detroit, presented by DTE Energy Foundation. All four concerts will be conducted by Yaniv Segal and feature classical and pops favorites by Copland, Mozart, Rossini, and John Williams.

This year’s concerts will take place in:

• DETROIT on Thursday, September 20 at 10:45 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple

• WATERFORD on Thursday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Waterford Kettering High School

• MONROE on Saturday, September 22 at 8 p.m. at Meyer Theater (on the campus of Monroe County Community College)

• STERLING HEIGHTS on Sunday, September 23 at 3 p.m. at Sterling Heights High School

“The DSO is dedicated to connecting with communities in and around Detroit throughout the year, and these free concerts that launch our season have become a great way to demonstrate that commitment” said DSO President and CEO Anne Parsons. “We are grateful to the DTE Energy Foundation for this partnership that promotes and enables unique opportunities for accessibility and we deeply value our historic collaboration. As we make the tough choices around the annual selection of host venues, we invite others to join in this support so that more opportunities can be offered to the many areas of our city where we have yet to visit.”

For more than 50 years the DTE Energy Foundation, the philanthropic arm of DTE Energy, has supported the DSO and its cultural programs, and the Foundation is proud to once again help the Orchestra bring music to diverse communities throughout Southeast Michigan. In the spring of 2016, the DTE Energy Foundation awarded the DSO with a three-year grant to continue offering these free community concerts each fall. It also includes endowment support for music education, senior citizen outreach, and additional community engagement programming.

“The Community Concert Series is a partnership event that we look forward to sharing with our communities each year to bring local residents, youth, and families together and provide the opportunity to hear a world-class orchestra play in their own backyard,” said Lynette Dowler, president of the DTE Energy Foundation. “By partnering with the DSO, we’re hoping to inspire others to pursue culturally enriching experiences or careers that enhance their quality of life.”

While the concerts are free admission, a seat reservation is required for entry. Seats can be reserved now at dso.org or by clicking on the following links:

Buffalo Wild Wings celebrates new Sterling Heights location with FREE wings for a year to 1st 100 Guests 4/13

Sterling Heights Buffalo Wild Wings opens to the public April 13 in expanded new home

Buffalo Wild Wings will celebrate the opening of its newest restaurant in Sterling Heights with a grand opening celebration which will be held at noon on Sunday, April 13 at 44833 Mound Road.

Buffalo Wild Wings will be giving local residents an opportunity they can’t afford to miss. The first 100 guests through the door for the restaurant’s noon Grand Opening will receive free wings for a year.

The restaurant is the first in Michigan to now feature Buffalo Wild Wings “Stadia” format. The Stadia design works to bring the feel of a sports stadium into the dining experience from an energy and social perspective. That includes more gathering space and an increased restaurant footprint of 1,000 sq. ft. offering seating for an additional 60 people, including an all-season patio. An enhanced audio-visual system will strengthen the game day viewing experience.

Buffalo Wild Wings is the winner of scores of best wings and best sports bar awards. Providing mouth-watering wings, a great beer selection and ultimate sports viewing to local residents on big screens and wall-to-wall HDTVs, it is the destination for wing fanatics and sports fans alike.

While the restaurant’s boldly flavored menu includes boneless wings, specialty burgers and sandwiches, finger foods, wraps, salads and Naked Tenders®, the main attraction continues to be Buffalo, NY-style chicken wings, as well as 17 signature sauces and five seasonings. A variety of limited-time special offerings keep the menu new and fresh.

Customers also can choose from a wide variety of Michigan crafts, domestic, import, and specialty draft and bottle beers served by bartenders who are trained in the honored art of ale. Buffalo Wild Wing’s beer is always poured and garnished correctly for the maximum flavor and freshness.

“The new Stadia format is an evolution of Buffalo Wild Wings. It mirrors the way our guests socialize and enjoy sporting events and we’re pleased that we can deliver this high – energy stadium experience first in Michigan,” said Michael Ansley, president and CEO of Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc. “Sterling Heights is a dynamic community and we expect this new restaurant to quickly evolve into not only the place to kickback during the week and unwind with friends, but also become a gathering spot to watch the game on the weekends.”

The restaurant will hold two signature events weekly: Wing Tuesdays® and Boneless Thursdays®. Both feature traditional or boneless wings at a special price.

The Sterling Heights NEW! Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 44833 Mound Road (at the intersection of Mound Road and M-59). It is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from noon to 12 a.m.
