Build a Toy Wagon on Saturday 3/5 at the Home Depot

Build. Learn. Create. Have fun with fun Kids Workshops at the Home Depot designed for children ages 5 - 12. Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.

Join this hands-on workshop and build a rolling toy wagon for your child's tiny toys. Once the wagon is built, your child can decorate it with The Home Depot stickers.

The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) family thrift stores will host its March Mayhem Sale Saturday, March 5th.

The sale will feature 50 percent off clothing and 25 percent off housewares at all metro Detroit thrift stores. Doors will be open at most stores from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its two dollar stores in Pontiac and Detroit.

“Even with this mild winter weather, it’s challenging to predict clothing needs as temperatures fluctuate,” said Merle Miller, administrator of The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center. “At our March sale, we’ll cover everyone’s clothing needs from winter to Spring Break to summer clothes, all at affordable prices and to benefit a worthy cause.”

In addition to 50 percent savings on clothing, shoppers will have opportunities to pick up great deals on shoes, accessories, electronics, linens, furniture and more during bonus sales announced throughout the day.

All proceeds from the 35 metro Detroit thrift stores benefit The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Centers, independently funded, 180-day residential rehabilitation program for adults.

MARCH 14—THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966) - 50th Anniversary - “For three men the Civil War wasn’t hell. It was practice.” A classic “spaghetti western” featuring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach about a bounty hunting scam that joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in confederate gold buried in a remote cemetery. This, the third film directed by Sergio Leone in the Dollars Trilogy, which includes A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965) is often voted the best western film of all time! APRIL 11—MANHUNTER (1986) - Former FBI profiler Will Graham returns to service to pursue a deranged serial murderer named by the media "the Tooth Fairy.” This film, directed by Michael Mann is considered the prequel to the better known The Silence of the Lambs. Stars: William Petersen, Kim Greist, Joan Allen. (Rated R. 119 min.)

APRIL 18—THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991) - 25th Anniversary - A young F.B.I. cadet must confide in an incarcerated and manipulative killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims. This film was only the third film (the other two being It Happened One Night and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) to win Academy Awards in all the top five categories: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Adapted Screenplay. APRIL 25—CRIMSON PEAK (2015) - In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. MAY 9— THE MARTIAN (2015) - During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew.
