SCHOLARSHIPS: Applications open for Metro Detroit Youth Day College Scholarships - ENDS 4/15

Don't miss the Friday, April 15th Deadline....

Graduating high school students in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties have until Friday April 15, 2016, to apply for one of many scholarships to be issued by the Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation. Metro Detroit Youth Day (MDYD) scholarships will be awarded at the 34th annual Youth Day event on Belle Isle Wednesday, July 13th.

Students graduating from a public, parochial, private or charter school who have been accepted into a four year university or college or a two year community college program and have confirmed attendance for fall enrollment are eligible to apply for a MDYD scholarship.

Applicants can download the application and submission instructions at www.metrodetroityouthday.org. (the application is a PDF)

Since 1991, MDYD has awarded more than 1,100 scholarships to deserving students who submitted an application along with an essay to be considered, according to Ed Deeb, founder and chairman.

Anyone wishing to donate funds for Metro Detroit Youth Day scholarships can send a check to “Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation” by mail to 27700 Hoover Road, Ste 200, Warren, MI 48093.
