My bed with my new comfy Down Linens pillows
Let's get "down" and comfortable....

Special thanks to DownLinens.com for providing complementary product to facilitate this review

Everyone that has been reading my blog for a while knows that sleep has been eluding me of late since I turned the big 5-0.  My mind is just having trouble shutting off and at times I feel like I am suffering from Adult ADHD.  So when Down Linens gave me the opportunity to try out some of their deluxe down pillows, I jumped at the chance to make my bed a little more comfortable so sleep will come more easily.

Like most parents, I have no problem buying my son all new bedding in this room, but I have not bought myself any new bedding in years. The current pillows on my bed were all pretty old, ratty and hard - so trying out new down pillows from Down Linens was a joy.

Down Linens is an online outlet selling high quality down, feather and alternative bedding products at reasonable prices.

Down Linens pride themselves on selling products that are simple, stylish and elegant, and all treated to be hypo-allergenic. This makes them the perfect choice for most people who redecorating their bedroom or just looking to replace, refresh or upgrade home bedding, like me. Down Linens Deluxe Down Pillows are built to retain the fullness you get in a brand new pillow for many years.

Perfect for Pillow Propping...
I was sent two Down Linens Deluxe Down Queen size Pillows which come with separate pillow covers in a 330-thread count. Each cover has a zipper for easy removal, and the covers are down proof to prevent leakage. I love having lots of pillows on my bed and my new pillows from Down Linens are perfect for propping behind my head while reading a good book. When sleeping, my new pillows are soft but still firm enough to support my head.

Tips for Getting a Good Night’s Sleep ...

All of us sometimes find it hard to fall asleep at night.  And even with my new pillows, I know my sleep troubles will not just end overnight. So Down Linens offer the following sleep tips and tricks that I plan to follow to help with my sleep issues -

- Avoid eating late dinners or snacks
You should finish meals at least two hours before you go to bed.

- Intake caffeine only before noon
Caffeine can cause sleep problems up to ten hours after drinking coffee or soda!

- Avoid drinking too many liquids after 4 p.m
Make a last trip to the bathroom before you douse the lights.

- Set a regular bedtime
Go to bed at the same time every night. Choose a time when you normally feel tired, so that you don’t toss and turn. Try not to break this routine on weekends when it may be tempting to stay up late. If you want to change your bedtime, help your body adjust by making the change in small daily increments, such as 15 minutes earlier or later each day.

- Wake up at the same time every day
If you’re getting enough sleep, you should wake up naturally without an alarm. If you need an alarm clock to wake up on time, you may need to set an earlier bedtime. As with your bedtime, try to maintain your regular waking time even on weekends.

- Nap to make up for lost sleep
If you need to make up for a few lost hours, opt for a short daytime nap rather than trying to sleep in late. This strategy allows you to pay off your sleep debt without disturbing your natural sleep–wake rhythm, which often backfires in insomnia and throws you off for days.

- Be smart about napping
While taking a nap can be a great way to recharge, especially for older adults, it can make insomnia worse. If insomnia is a problem for you, consider eliminating napping. If you must nap, do it in the early afternoon, and limit it to thirty minutes.

- Fight after–dinner drowsiness
If you find yourself getting sleepy way before your bedtime, get off the couch and do something mildly stimulating to avoid falling asleep, such as washing the dishes, calling a friend, or getting clothes ready for the next day. If you give in to the drowsiness, you may wake up later and have trouble getting back to sleep.

Buy Online without Worry...
Down Linens Deluxe Down Pillows start at a retail price of $89 each and come with a 30 day money back guarantee as well as free return shipping so you don't have to worry about losing money from trying out pillows from an online company. Professional cleaning is recommended once a year plus monthly washing of the pillow covers to keep the pillows smelling fresh.
