FOOD: International Pineapple Day at Bahama Breeze was a Food and Drink Lover's Celebration

International Pineapple Day or any day is a good excuse to celebrate with Happy Hour drink and meal deals at Bahama Breeze...

Did you know that International Pineapple Day was April 2nd ??? Well I did not know that such a food-inspired day existed until Bahama Breeze invited me and other Metro Detroit area bloggers to their Livonia, MI and Troy MI locations on April 2nd for a complimentary tasting of their pineapple themed drinks - the Goombay Smash and the Painkiller.

The Bahama Breeze Goombay Smash is one smooth drink...
The Goombay Smash, a cocktail from the Bahamas, was created by Miss Emily at Blue Bee Bar. The original recipe is a secret, but Bahama Breeze's version is hand-crafted from spiced and dark rums mixed with fresh orange and pineapple juice.  This drink is awesome and so smooth that you can drink it all in no time flat. So I would suggest pacing yourself and thoroughly enjoying this yummy concoction.

The Bahama Breeze Painkiller can cure what ails ya :)
The Painkiller hails from the Soggy Dollar Bar in the British Virgin Islands.  The Bahama Breeze version is made with Pusser's Dark Rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and orange juice, finished tableside with freshly ground nutmeg. If you love pineapple and rum, you have got to try out this drink.

The Bahama Breeze Pineapple Martini is only $4 during Happy Hour!!!
The Bahama Breeze Painkiller and the Goombay Smash reminded me of a previous visit to the Livonia Bahama Breeze last year when I tried out one of the Happy Hour $4 drink specials - the Bahama Breeze Pineapple Martini, which contains Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, grenadine, and rum-infused golden pineapple garnish - oh the memories :)

Bahama Breeze has the best staff - friendly and knowledgeable about the menu
The Bahama Breeze Coconut Shrimp are my favorite!
My son loves the Bahama Breeze Classic Cheeseburger Sliders!
The Bahama Breeze Beef Empanadas are yummy!
You cannot go wrong with the Bahama Breeze Chicken Quesadillas.
Happy Hour Special abound at Bahama Breeze!!!
And speaking of Happy Hour specials, drinks are all the better when paired with good food. So I was very happy that I was also treated to a complimentary sampling of Bahama Breeze Happy Hour appetizers, which are available at half-price from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and also during the Bahama Breeze late night Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday for 9pm to close.

The yummy Bahama Breeze Coconut Shrimp are my favorite appetizer on the menu, followed by the Classic Cheese Burger Sliders (my son's favorite), the Beef Empanadas, and the Chicken Quesadillas, which have a real kick from the jerk seasoning. It is hard to believe all this yummy food is half-price during Happy Hour. And if you want to know anything about how your food is made, just ask your server. My server Melissa was a wealth of information about the entire menu!

The Bahama Breeze Key Lime Pie is the best!!
Even though we were full from all the great appetizers and pineapple drinks, we were still able to finish off our meal by sharing a very large piece of Bahama Breeze Key Lime Pie!!! Talk about ending an evening on a positive note :)
