Over 46% of adults in Michigan admit to taking a ride with a drunk driver, which contributes to 27% of all traffic related fatalities in Michigan.

The Royal Oak Police Department will be increasing patrols to keep the roads safe this weekend. “We strongly encourage any alternative to getting behind the wheel after drinking. Uber is a great option to ensure you get home safely,” says Chief of Police, Corrigan O’Donahue.

“This Wednesday is our busiest night of the year, and the Royal Oak Police Department will have a lot of extra patrol officers out with a focus on keeping drunk drivers off the road.”

Uber is teaming with the Royal Oak Police Department and offering two FREE rides in Michigan to NEW users to encourage responsible drinking.
