CHARITY: The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center on Fort Street hosts FREE lunch and clothing giveaway on 9/17

Free clothing, lunch for community
members in need...

The Salvation Army ARC is giving away free lunch and clothing to community members in need following Sunday chapel service on Sunday, September 17th, 2017.

Local Salvation Army Donation Centers are experiencing an overflow of community donations and are consequently looking to give large amounts of clothing items back to the community.

The first 700 people to arrive at the center located at 1627 W. Fort St. in Detroit will receive a ticket for free lunch as well as a bag to fill with free clothing.

Community members that participate in the event will have the opportunity to:
· Attend an inspirational morning service filled with positive affirmations and worship.
· Enjoy a complimentary, filling and healthy lunch made by the ARC’s in-house culinary arts program.
· Hand-select a bag filled with clothing, accessories and more from the Salvation Army thrift stores’ surplus of donations.
· Learn more about the programs and services offered by The Salvation Army ARC.

This event starts at 8 a.m. Sunday, September 17th.  Service begins at 8:45 a.m. and lunch will follow at 11 a.m. Clothing selection/distribution will begin at 11 a.m., immediately after the worship service

The Adult Rehabilitation Center is an integral part of The Salvation Army’s mission, and offers substance-abusing adults the opportunity to rebuild their lives through a voluntary, short-term residential self-help program designed to establish a sense of dignity, self-esteem and personal strength that will allow them to resist the desire to abuse a substance and regain their rightful place as contributing members of society. Completely self-funded, the ARC draws its entire operating budget from the revenue of its 37 metro Detroit thrift stores.
