The Salvation Army Doing the Most Good Week® Celebration on 5/15 features FREE Ice Cream

As part of The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s 9th annual Doing the Most Good® Week celebration, the nonprofit will host a lunchtime event for downtown Detroit employees and visitors with FREE Ice Cream!!!

Denali Flavors, makers of the legendary Moose Tracks ice cream, partnering with Dean’s Country Fresh ice cream, is hosting a free ice cream giveaway.  Free chips and salsa will also be available courtesy of Garden Fresh Gourmet. Musical entertainment provided by The Salvation Army Divisional Brass Band.

For every scoop of ice cream served up by a local celebrity, Denali Flavors will donate $1 to The Salvation Army, up to $10,000. All funds raised will support The Salvation Army’s good work in feeding and sheltering people across metro Detroit.

Detroit’s favorite food trucks, including Dago Joe’s, Jacques’ Tacos, Mac Shack, and The Pita Post will also be there serving up delicious food for lunch.

WHERE: Cadillac Square (next to Campus Martius Park) in Detroit

Doing the Most Good® Week is unique to Metro Detroit, and coincides yearly with the annual National Salvation Army Week, as designated by U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954.
