REVIEW: Stay Positive in 2013 with the "Get Happy" iPhone/iPad app

I think "Get Happy" must be reading my mind - I totally agree with this tip :)
It's the daily positive habits that we engage in that make us feel happy...

Happy 2013!!! Say what? What's so happy about the New Year? Well if we all really sat down to think about it, we could find hundreds of reasons why each day is a real blessing.

But let's face it - during really trying times when we are over worked, or unemployed, or having issues with family and friends, happy feelings can be hard to conjure up. There are days when I don't even turn of the TV to watch the news because everyday the featured stories are so depressing.

One of the things that I liked about watching "The Oprah Show" was that she asked viewers to journal as a way of reminding ourselves daily of reasons to be happy. Whether using a gratitude journal, saying affirmations, praying, or reading FREEISMYLIFE to get a scheduled dose of freebies, it's the daily positive habits that we engage in that make us feel happy.

That's why I was "happy" when I was asked to review a new iPhone app called "Get Happy - Ways to Increase Your Happiness."

This 99 cents app gives you a simple daily tip to help you be more happy in one of four life areas - relationships, personal growth, leisure, or work & education.

The "Get Happy" app is color coded by topic
When you first setup the app, you can choose the areas in which you most want to increase your happiness, and the daily tips will be gaged toward those areas. The app is very organized and uses color coding for the tips to match them to the different areas. Relationship tips are color coded pink - and no the tips are not all about how to find a man or woman. The relationship tips are about not getting caught up in past negativity, trying new life experiences to meet new people and being grateful for the relationships that we currently have.

If you don't want to wait for the daily tip, you can scroll through all the tips in the app and find the ones that we want to read.  I personally love the tips in the "Leisure" section since they are all simple trues that unfortunately we tend to forget when life gets really hard.

And if you find a tip that you want to share with friends, the app has share buttons for social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

The "Get Happy" app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later.

You will not find any tips in this app that are earth shattering or overly thought provoking. But for iPhone and iPad users who are looking for a cute (and cheap) way to get a daily dose of positivity, the "Get Happy" app is a simple, affirming way to start your day.
