Pay only $1 for clothing, linens, towels, curtains and household goods at the Salvation Army Pontiac store...

The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) recently converted its Pontiac Thrift Store on Perry Street to a dollar store. The transition represents the second ARC dollar store to join the nonprofit’s 34 metro Detroit thrift stores, the other of which is located on Michigan Avenue in Detroit.

With $1 deals on clothing, linens, towels, curtains and household goods, the Pontiac Dollar Store offers patrons tremendous savings on the same great selection of Salvation Army Thrift Store merchandise you can expect at any of the nonprofit’s stores. The ARC rotates clothing on and off the store floor daily, ensuring a fresh selection of merchandise each time you shop.

In addition, the Pontiac Dollar Store will participate in the ARC’s seasonal 50 percent off clothing sales. Shoppers can look forward to great deals throughout the year for only 50 cents. Furniture and electronics will remain priced as marked.

“We expect the Pontiac Dollar Store will boost our sales,” said Jacqulynn Idzior, director of operations, The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan ARC, which operates the thrift stores. “Since we converted the Detroit location to a dollar store in October 2011, we have more than doubled sales at that thrift store. We are confident the Pontiac store will yield similar results.”

The Pontiac store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday.

Donations of gently used clothing, linen, household appliances, furniture, toys, shoes, purses and housewares are accepted at all Salvation Army thrift store donation centers. For specific hours of a donation center near you, please visit the website at www.salarmythrift.com.

Proceeds from all 34 stores benefit The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Centers, independently funded, 180-day residential rehabilitation program for adults.
