FREE 30th Annual African World Festival at Charles H. Wright Museum 8/17 -19

Friday, August 17th marks the start of the 30th annual African World Festival with celebrations including performances, cuisine, crafts, vendors and special activities for the kids.  I used to take my son to this festival years ago when it was in Hart Plaza and it is a blast for kids.

Festival Highlights include:

- Indoor/Outdoor Historic Photo Displays
- African Folklife Village
- Detroit Rocks the Runway Fashion Show
- 4 stages of entertainment including the Nile River Jazz & Blues Stage
- Scarab Club Performances
- Watoto Celebration – Festival of Fun for Youth
- Parade of Nations featuring the International Caribbean Festival Parade
