Heather Henson & Ibex Puppetry perform “Celebration of Flight” at Detroit Institute of Arts 8/25 8/26

Heather Henson, daughter of Muppet's fame Jim Henson, performs “Celebration of Flight” with Ibex Puppetry

Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26
Performances at 2 and 4 p.m. each day

Heather Henson’s Ibex Puppetry, an internationally renowned performance troupe, will present “Celebration of Flight” on the north lawn of the Detroit Institute of Arts. The performance follows the story of a young crane as it learns to fly and features large-scale puppets and kites.

Visitors can build their own kites from noon to 4 p.m. each day to fly with Henson and other company puppeteers during the performance.

Seating will be picnic-style. Audience members are invited to bring blankets and chairs.

FREE DIA Admission for residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties and DIA members. Otherwise $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 for ages 6-17.
