TECH: A Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack MiFi makes for a Great Holiday Gift

What do you give the tech lover on your list? Verizon 4G LTE for use with multiple devices...

Over the last 2 years, I have reviewed more than a few Verizon MiFi hotpots, the newest of which is the Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack MiFi.  I first saw the Jetpack in person at a Verizon African American Small Business Empowerment Workshop held at the Atheneum in Greektown. Everyone at the workshop was all a buzz because Verizon was giving away a Jetpack which can provide internet connections for up to 10 devices.

Here is a rundown on the Verizon Jetpack specs:
- Works with PC, Mac as well as most devices with OS X, Android and IOS operating systems for wide-ranging use
- Dimensions: 3.74" x 2.36" x 0.53"
- Weight: 3.2 ounces
- Battery: up to 5 hours of standard battery and up to 8 hours of optional extended battery
- Connects with up to 10 Wi–Fi enabled devices

I have found MiFi Hotspots like the Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack to be one of the most useful tech devices on the market. With a MiFi Hotspot, you can have internet access anywhere that you go, so you are not limited to only doing work at your business location.

I remember a great experience that I had back when I reviewed my first Verizon mifi. It was summer and my son had been invited to the Belle Isle Golf Course to attend a private golf outing where each child was paired with a golf pro for the entire day. I wanted to take him, but I had an assignment that I had to finish at work. But then I remembered that with a Verizon MiFi, I could work from any location. So I took my son to the golf outing and he enjoyed himself while I used the Verizon Mifi to work from my car. I finished my assignment with time to spare to join my son at the outing for lunch.  That is when I realized that MiFi Hotspots are game changers in how people can live their lives.

Don't take your kid to work with you without a Verizon 4G LTE MiFi :)
Just this past August, my son had to spend the day with me at work and we all know that an office work environment is not something that a 12 year old boy would find interesting.  But I was not worried because I knew the Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack would save the day.  I hooked up my son's laptop and 3DS to the Verizon Jetpack and he was quiet as a lamb for the entire day because he had an internet connection that was as fast as the our home wifi.  My co-workers were highly impressed when they realized my son had been in my office the entire day and they had not heard a peep out of him.

Give a Verizon Prepaid Jetpack as a Holiday Gift...
A Verizon Jetpack would make a pretty awesome holiday gift for the student, business person or anyone on the go. Say what? How would you give a 2 year contract MifI as a gift? Well, the Verizon Jetpack is not just available as a 2 year contract device. Verizon also sells a prepaid version of the Verizon Jetpack at Walmart for use with up to 5 devices.

Verzion 4G LTE Jetpack is as close as your local Walmart!
I did not know Verizon sold the Jetpack prepaid until I was in Walmart looking at DVD's. That's when I noticed that Walmart sells the Prepaid Verizon Jetpack for $129.89. Then the monthly service can be purchased via prepaid cards for various amounts ranging from $15 to $90. So you can buy the prepaid Verizon Jetpack and one service card as a holiday gift and then the gift recipient can purchase their own monthly service cards going forward.

So if you are looking for a useful holiday gift for the tech lover on your list, check out the Verizon Prepaid 4G LTE Jetpack Mifi.  You cannot go wrong with giving superfast 4G LTE internet to anyone that is on-the-go.

The Verizon 4G LTE Jetpack Mifi is also available for $49.95 with a 2 year contract on the Verizon website.

Disclosure: Verizon loaned me a Jetpack for review.  All opinions are my own.  Like the photos in this post? There were taken with various Verizon smartphones including the Verizon Droid Razr M loaned to me by Verizon Wireless.
