CHARITY: Help DRIVE TO THRIVE collect 1,000 gently used business suits in 5 days 6/17 - 6/21

FARBMAN GROUP AND JACKETS FOR JOBS PARTNER TO HELP UNEMPLOYED JOB SEEKERS...

Metro Detroit Real Estate company Farbman Group has partnered with Jackets for Jobs to launch DRIVE TO THRIVE, an effort to collect more than 1,000 gently used business suits, beginning Monday, June 17th and continuing through Friday, June 21st.

Individuals are invited to drop off gently used men’s and women’s suits at the Detroit and Detroit-area Farbman Group office properties detailed below.

Jackets for Jobs is a Detroit-based nonprofit organization that helps provide career skills training, employment etiquette and professional clothing to job seekers. The organization relies on clothing donations such as DRIVE TO THRIVE to ensure it has the inventory to appropriately dress its clients for work-many of who leave its shop to go directly to an interview.

“We invite our business colleagues and neighbors – thousands of whom come through the doors of our properties every day – to join us in this effort,” said Andy Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group. “Together, we are helping to provide one of the resources needed so that individuals feel and look their best while seeking to re-enter the workforce and, ultimately, thrive. For those who are cleaning out their closets during the change of season, it’s a perfect time to consider donating to this award winning program.”

Clothing donations should meet these guidelines: All clothing must be clean, dry-cleaned, washed or ironed and on a hanger, ensuring it will arrive at Jackets for Jobs without wrinkles. Clothing must be in good condition, with no stains, moth holes, buttons missing, rips or tears, or broken zippers.
Clothing must be in current style and suitable for the workplace. Basic colors such as black, brown, navy, and white are in great demand, but others are welcome. In addition to suits, jackets,shirts, and dresses and accessories such as shoes, belts, jewelry, handbags,and unopened cosmetics are also greatly appreciated. The organization has aspecial need for coats, umbrellas and plus-sized suits for women and big andtall suits for men.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Tax receipts are provided at request at each buildings management office unless otherwise noted. Drop-off boxes are provided in the lobby of each building.

Drive to Thrive is part of Farbman Cares, Farbman Group’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Past Farbman Cares initiatives have included school supply and canned food drives as well as participation in bake sales and fundraiser walk participation.
