FREE DSO Summer Celebration Concert 6/26 at Orchestra Hall

DSO KICKS OFF SUMMER SEASON WITH FREE SUMMER CELEBRATION CONCERT

Get ready to don your shorts, sandals and sunnies to start off the DSO’s summer season with the FREE Summer Celebration Concert on Wednesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. at Orchestra Hall, presented by Scott Shuptrine Interiors. 

A warm weather-inspired program including An American in Paris, William Tell Overture and the Superman March will greet guests, along with local food and retail vendors like Beau Bien Fine Foods, Emerald, Peacock Room and more. The Paradise Café, DSO’s in-house dining room, will be serving up summertime spirit with your favorite sun-soaked treats.

Former DSO Resident Conductor Thomas Wilkins will lead the orchestra, and Assistant Concertmaster Hai-Xin Wu will be featured performing Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo capriccioso in A minor for Violin and Orchestra.

“Scott Shuptrine is proud to celebrate the DSO’s vast donor base increase over the past few seasons,” said Nancy Jones, Director at Scott Shuptrine Interiors. “It is through initiatives like Community Support Month, and this Summer Celebration that a cultural gem can really thank the community members responsible for making such success possible.”

Thomas Wilkins is the music director of the Omaha Symphony, a position he has held since 2005.  Committed to promoting a life-long enthusiasm for music, Thomas brings energy and commitment to audiences of all ages. For his significant contribution to the children of Tampa Bay, the Pinellas County Music Educators Association named him 1998 Friend of the Arts and the Hillsborough County Elementary Music Educators recognized him as 1998 Music Educator of the Year.
