FREE Educators Event at The Henry Ford Museum 10/18 4-6pm Dearborn

George Washington Carver Teacher Preview

Most of us remember George Washington Carver had something to do with peanuts and he did. He incorporated portions of the peanut into a vast array of products 300 in all. Some of those products include cosmetics, plastics, cheese, coffee, ink and much more. Carver obtained a master’s degree in agricultural science from Iowa State University and taught at Tuskegee Institute. He devoted himself to the rehabilitation of both the soil and the farmers of the south.

During this exclusive teacher preview of our George Washington Carver exhibit, explore Carver’s life, as an educator, scientist, innovator, social activist, his approach to agriculture and notable achievements. Plan a field trip that will motivate, provide agricultural knowledge, creative thinking, and encourage further investigation.
