REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Boston Market 25th Anniversary Makeover gets an A+ (CLOSED)

Makeovers are big these days.  With each birthday or anniversary, most of us realize that we need to perform a little maintenance on our appearances to keep up with the times.  A new outfit, new makeup techniques, new furniture - we all need a revamp from time to time.

Well, this year, Boston Market is marking their 25th anniversary with a makeover that is pretty sweet!  Last Thursday, I and my son and my gal pal Miss L. were invited to check out some to the enhancements that Boston Market has made in their restaurants.

Lisa, our Dining Room Ambassador
When we arrived at the Boston Market location on Hoover Road in Warren, we were immediately greeted with a warm smile and a hello by Boston Market employee Lisa.  That greeting had nothing to do with the fact that I am a blogger.  Lisa  is one of Boston Market's new Dining Room Ambassadors that were hired to give guests a more upscale level of service that is usually not found at fast food restaurants.  Boston Market is helping out the Detroit job market by creating more than 77 new jobs in the Detroit area during this down economy.

A Very Professional Looking Staff
One of the first changes that I noticed at Boston Market was the way the staff were attired.  Everyone looked like they had just walked off the set of the hit cable series "Top Chef".  The cooks were dressed in "Chef Whites" and the servers were dressed in crisp button-down shirts with bib aprons.  I must say that I loved the new uniforms and everyone looked very crisp, clean and totally professional.

The Food was Looking Hot!
The next change that I noticed was in the presentation of the food.  I L-O-V-E colored pots and pans.  I think colorful pans make any kitchen look sweet and homey.  Well Boston Market must think like me because the are now using colorful enameled stainless steel pots to hold the food in their Chef's Hot Case.

Another change that I love is that dine-in guests now get to eat on real white plates with stainless steel silverware!  Plastic-ware be gone!

New Menu Items:
Boston Market has also updated their menu with some yummy new options that had me licking my lips:

- There are 4 new gourmet sides – Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Garlicky Lemon Savoy Spinach, Squash Casserole, and the Mediterranean Green Beans.

- The new hand carved sandwiches include the Rotisserie Chicken Pesto, Oven Roasted Turkey BLT and All-White Rotisserie Chicken Salad all served on multigrain wheat bread.

- The new Hand-Tossed Entrée Salads – Mediterranean, Southwest Santa Fe and Asian – are each made with Rotisserie Chicken.

- Soup choices now include the Chicken Tortilla and Broccoli Cheese and the new sauces that were created to complement the Rotisserie Chicken are the Orange Chipotle Glaze, Island Mojo, Zesty Barbecue, Sweet Thai Chili Garlic and Honey Habanero.

- And the menu now has some more healthy options with the addition of the Garlicky Lemon Savoy Spinach and Mediterranean Green Beans

A FREE Taste Before You Commit
Another change that Boston Market has made is that customers can get a taste of a dish to help decide what to buy.  Don't know which sauce to try or cannot decide between two sides? The servers will give you a taste in a small plastic cup to help you decide.

My picky son ate every bit of his meatloaf!
My son is a very picky eater and he actually told Lisa that he wanted a hamburger - only he would go into a restaurant that specializes in chicken and ask for beef. She suggested he try the meatloaf. They got him a sample in a cup and I could not believe what happened next - he loved it and asked for the meat loaf meal which he devoured in no time flat. If it has not been for that sample, I know he would have never tried it on his own.

My meal looked and tasted great! I loved eating on a real plate
Food, Wonderful Food!
All of us totally enjoyed our Boston Market meals.  The Rotisserie Chicken was wonderful and the meat practically fell off the bone.  It was so good that I actually did not use any of the Zesty Barbecue sauce that I had ordered on the side.  Everyone loved the Loaded Mashed Potatoes.  I really don't know how to put into words how good those mashed potatoes were.  Both Miss L. and I ordered them and we could not stop talking about how good they tasted.  My son ate every last bit of his Meat Loaf.  The service was also wonderful with Lisa checking on us countless times throughout the meal and refilling our drinks as needed.

A+ for Everything
With the great food and great customer service I really had a hard time remembering that I was in a fast food restaurant. The changes that Boston Market has implemented from presentation to menu are excellent. For those eating in, the customer service is outstanding. The food is so good that the Carry-Out Line never ended the entire time that we were eating. The Boston Market's 25th Anniversary Makeover gets a definite A+.
