Travel Review: My Adventures in Brandcation 2010: Kissimmee, FL: Florida EcoSafaries

Indiana Jackie all harnessed up and ready...
Forget Disney for once and Zipline through the Florida wilderness...

Yesterday, I started my new travel review series called My Adventures in Brandcation: Kissimmee where I am reviewing my recent trip to Kissimmee Florida to attend Brandcation 2010.

In my last post, I told you about the beautiful gated vacation home community where I stayed called Global Resort Homes. Today I am going to tell you about one of the blogger excursions that we on to the Florida EcoSafaries. Florida EcoSafaries is an Eco-Attraction with a cause. 30% of all Safari revenues go to support the Allen Broussard Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the fragile ecosystems of Florida's native wilderness.

Chilling on the main porch waiting for the adventure to begin...
A few of the animals on the property....
On Florida EcoSafaries, you can choose to zipline, ride a coach, or horseback ride through the Florida wilderness.  Now if you could not guess from the photo of me in the pink harness, we bloggers went on the zipline safari.  I have been on a zipline so I was a little aware of what to expect.  But the zipline at the Howell Nature Center here in the Detroit area is only one line long.  At the Florida EcoSafaries, the adventure consists of 7 ziplines and 2 suspended air foot bridges (think Indiana Jones).

All ready to go...
Time to climb the tower...
This adventure is not for the faint of heart, but we all had a blast. After getting harnessed up and getting a safety lesson, it was time to climb the tower to the first zipline. Florida EcoSafaries practices thorough safety measures and we were tethered at all times. Once you climb the first tower, you don't touch land again until you cross 7 ziplines and 2 foot bridges.

The footbridges were more intimidating than the ziplines...
After our adventure, we had worked up a good appetite that was satisfied by a great lunch in the main house at Florida EcoSafaries.  And after our safari adventure, it was great to be able to go back to our luxury vacation homes at Global Resort Homes.

I would highly recommend Florida EcoSafaries for a great and different way to experience Florida that also helps support the Florida ecosystem.

Watch for my next review in this series where I will tell all about another fabulous Florida excursion that we bloggers took as part of Brandcation 2010 Kissimmee.

Enjoy!

Disclosure: I paid for my own airfare and received all Brandcation related lodging and activities at a substantially discounted price.
