GIVEAWAY: Recyle & Reuse - and WIN a month supply of Scott Naturals Products ENDS 5/2 (CLOSED)

My son in new very clean, de-cluttered room!
"B Kind 2 Earth Day" brings New Life to Old Items...

This is the 3rd of four posts in my series to celebrate Mother Earth.

Before we get into this week's giveaway, I first want to announce the week two winner of a month's supply of Scott Naturals wipes, napkins, paper towel and bathroom tissue that is made from at least 20% recycled material or packaging.  The winner is David Kinney of Trenton, MI. If the name sounds familiar, it is probably because David also won my week one Scott Naturals giveaway.  So David, you are really one very lucky man when it comes to Earth Day. Congratulations!

This week, I want to remind everyone that one man's junk is another man's treasure.  Now I am sure that each of us lives in a home where we claim there is not enough room.  More than likely, our homes are full because we are still living with possessions that we no longer use.

I am at an age where I feel kind of overrun by too many possessions. You know the clothes that have not been worn it years, the vacuum that still works but was replaced by another one so now there are two, the thing that was lost so another one was bought and now the first one was found and it just laying around gathering dust.

So how can we all solve our clutter problem AND be good to Mother Earth?

Give to Charity!
Bag up all those clothes that no one is wearing and take them to your favorite charity who can either sell them for money or give them to someone who really needs them.  Now your closets will no longer to overloaded and you will be able to find what you really can wear and use.

Have a Garbage Sell!
On a nice spring morning, take all your extra items out to the curb or a flea market and sell them for cash!  Recycling is not just for bottles and cans.  It can be for any items that you no longer need.

Teach Your Kids to use only what they need
Last weekend, I had my son go through his room and remove all the toys and items that he no longer needs.   I have taught him that he can only be prepared for new adventures when he is really lets go of things that he no longer needs.  Now his room is clean and ready for whatever the future holds and other kids can benefit from his unused clothing, toys, and electronics.  And when I buy my son's video games, I always look for a used copy of the game so that he can help with the REUSE aspect of Earth Day - and save some money too!

As you can see from my son's photo, he is wearing his "B Kind 2 Earth Day" shirt from being part of the "B Kind 2 Earth Day" initiative where my family was one of the state leaders for Michigan.  And just because Earth Day is over does not mean you cannot be part of "B Kind 2 Earth Day".  You too can make a difference by going to the "B Kind 2 Earth Day" Facebook Page and pledging to do your part.

You Won't Feel the Difference, but the Environment Will
Scott Naturals is challenging Americans to pledge to go green by testing out its line of hybrid paper products for four weeks.  Scott Naturals is the world's first line of hybrid paper products that features bath tissue, paper towels, flushable moist wipes and napkins made with a blend of virgin material and at least 20% recycled material in products or packaging. I have been chosen to participate in a blogger program to test drive the new Scott Naturals in my home for the next 4 weeks. This week I started using the Scott Naturals Napkins in my kitchen and I cannot tell the difference between the natural and the regular.

Between April 4 and September 30, you can go to www.ScottBrand.com/4WeekTestDrive and pledge to participate in the Scott Naturals 4-Week Test Drive Program. While you’re taking the pledge, you can enter for a chance to win a Ford Fusion hybrid sedan. You can also get coupons to save money on your Scott Naturals purchases.

And remember, for every person that takes the pledge using the link above, Scott Naturals will make a donation to the National Wildlife Federation of $1 (up to $25,000 total).

So, you see Going Green and being good to Mother Earth has never been so easy.
