GOODWILL CELEBRATES RETURN OF DETROIT TIGERS BASEBALL WITH ICE CREAM SPECIALS THAT SUPPORT LOCAL JOBS 4/8 Noon-5pm

Goodwill's Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShop in downtown Detroit offers specially priced ice cream and chance to win baseball tickets for Tigers fans this Friday

In celebration of its 2011 Grand Reopening and coinciding with Detroit Tigers Opening Day on Friday, April 8, the Goodwill Industries Ben & Jerry's PartnerShop in Detroit’s Compuware building (1014 Woodward) will offer 10 percent discounts off all Ben & Jerry’s orders and a chance for all patrons to win Tigers baseball tickets for a game later this season. Customers that give their email at the store on Friday will be entered to win the Tigers tickets.

The PartnerShop, owned and operated by Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, provides paid work experiences for Southeast Michigan youth facing employment challenges.

Detroit baseball and ice cream fans also can support Goodwill by picking up an official Pass it Forward “Dollars for Jobs” campaign envelope at the Ben & Jerry’s store. Proceeds from ice cream sales and “Dollars for Jobs” envelopes support Goodwill job creation, training and placement programs that help thousands of unemployed Metro Detroiters become “Trained, Trusted and Ready to Work.” Information on the Pass it Forward “Dollars for Jobs” campaign is available at http://www.goodwilldetroitpassitforward.org.

Goodwill Ben & Jerry’s PartnerShop employees receive training in resume-building and personal skills development, helping them gain important skills to prepare for the future. Proceeds from the PartnerShop support Goodwill Industries training and career development programs.
