Living for the (FREE) Weekend in Metro Detroit - April 15th - 17th

Here is a highlight of the FREE and low cost activities you can do this weekend in the metro Detroit area and beyond:

Friday is the last day to enter to Win a Trip to Avalanche Bay Indoor Water Park on Who could not use a totally FREE 2 Night Stay Trip for four to Avalanche Bay at Boyne Mountain??  I'll take it :)

Friday is the last day to enter the Kobo My Favorite Teacher Contest. All you have to do to try to win a Kobo for you and a Kobo for your fav teacher is tell in 250 words or less what makes your favorite teacher so cool.  What could be easier?

On Friday, a number of movies will have their opening day in Detroit including  the animated movie "Rio" (review link goes live at midnight) and Sex and City star Kim Cattrall in "Meet Monica Velour" (review link goes live at midnight). But which ones are really worth your hard earned money? Make sure you read movie reviews by our guest movie critique Liz Parker before you get your tickets.

Friday is also the last day to enter to win the Concert DVD "Introducing Johnny Reid".  This Canadian is making his American debut.  So if you like Country and Soul singing, be sure to enter before Friday at noon.

Take the kids this weekend to the FREE Butterfly House Exhibit at Oakland Mall in Troy, MI. Experience the wonder of Oakland Mall's interactive butterfly house, display and craft activities. This exhibit is located on the lower level near JCPenney.

Saturday is the FREE Teacher Appreciation Day at The Henry Ford with FREE Admission to all venues - which includes The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, The Ford Factory Tour and the IMAX Theater.  And teachers get to bring a friend along on this AWESOME all free day.

Staples says they can make things easy and what is easier than a FREE Ream of HP Paper with this COUPON (free after online rebate).  That was easy.

Make sure you tune in to HGTV on Saturday night to watch the official reveal of the HGTV "Green" House.  This is one very fashionable home built in the Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style, with an open floor plan that is modern and eco-friendly.  The contest officially started on April 14th, so go NOW and enter to win this house plus a new 2011 GMC Terrain and $100,000!  HOLLA!

Sunday is FREE Admission to the Detroit Historical Museum. In addition to FREE admission, there will be docent-led tours of the signature exhibit the Streets of Old Detroit from Noon - 3 p.m.
