REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: ProFlowers for Valentine Day & beyond - ENDS 2/9 (CLOSED)

ProFlowers comes through when things don't go as planned...
x
The most romantic day of the year is coming up on February 14th - Valentine's Day. While there are many ways to express love on this day, giving flowers has been and will always be one of the most favorite. And ProFlowers has tons of floral arrangements and gifts for all different tastes and price points.

I was sent a complementary gift code in order to try out ProFlowers for myself and tell you all about my experience.  So I sure you think that this review is all about how my ProFlowers experience was seamless and great from beginning to end. Well, sometimes things don't always go as planned in life...

Let's Start at the Beginning...
My journey started at the ProFlowers website where I searched through the many arrangements to see what I liked. I am not a roses kind of girl. My parents have grown tulips in their backyard since I was a child and I just love them, so I knew I wanted to order a tulip arrangement. ProFlowers gave me a $50 gift code and I wanted to get as many tulips for the price as possible. I chose the 30 assorted tulip arrangement for $39.99.

And now let's add a Discount...
If you listen to the radio or look at ads of the internet, you will notice that ProFlowers has tons of different discount codes available that will get you a free glass vase or free shipping or a percentage off the price of the arrangement. I did not need a glass vase since I already own lots of vases so I found and used a discount code that got me 15% off my order. So the 30 tulips with shipping and handling and tax came to just under $50 with the discount.

And then came the storm of the year...
Next I had to pick the date that I wanted my flowers to arrive. I ordered the flowers on the Tuesday before the biggest storm of the winter was about to hit the United States. Detroit was forecasted to receive 15 inches of snow so I decided to push out the delivery date to Friday and to have the flowers delivered to my job. I figured that everything would be back to normal by then and hopefully temperatures would not still be around zero degrees.

Customer Service to the Rescue...
Well, my flowers arrived to my job as scheduled on Friday just before it was time for me to leave for home. But when I opened them, the tulips looked a little, well, not great. Not only were they wilted and bruised, but some were also missing. I received 19 tulips instead of 30.

I called ProFlowers Customer Service and had a very good experience. I explained what happened and the Customer Service Rep apologized and arranged to send out replacement flowers. Now I was hoping they would send out the flowers next day, but they did not have anymore tulips available for next day delivery. I was told that if I picked another kind of flower they would send it next day, but I chose to just go with more tulips and have them delivered on Tuesday. And ProFlowers not only ate the cost of the replacement flowers but they also agreed to give me guaranteed morning delivery for the arrangement which is an extra cost.

Since I am writing this review on the Saturday before my flowers are scheduled to arrive, I cannot tell you the final outcome right now, but I can tell you that I have had a ProFlowers tulip arrangement sent to me in the past and the flowers were beautiful. I have recommended ProFlowers on my blog in the pass and I have heard nothing but great reviews from my readers who ordered from them. I don't know for sure if the snow storm somehow played a role in the problem with the flowers, but I do believe that this was an isolated incident and not the norm.  I also can tell you that the ProFlowers Customer Service was great to work with and they did not give me any hassles. I can also report that after 30 hours of love and care, my 17 surviving tulips are now doing very well.

So things in life don't always go as planned, but the important thing is when a company is willing to step up to the plate and make the situation right and ProFlowers came through. And I hope there are no more major snow storms on the horizon for Detroit before Valentine's Day :)

The sweetest comment was from Jenny who wrote the following -
"Ok so I thought I would ask my husband what his favorite flower was since I really didn't know earlier, and happy to report his answer, he says it's a red rose and I asked why and he says because it reminds him of me because it signifies our love from when he proposed, to us having our kids, and every special occasion in-between. How sweet! I am so glad I asked him!"
