Living for the (FREE) Weekend in Metro Detroit- March 18th - 20th

Here is a highlight of the FREE activities you can do this weekend in the metro Detroit area and beyond:


Friday is the 4th Annual Detroit Pistons Care Telethon to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Michigan. To help raise money, the Detroit Pistons will give each person that donates $10 two FREE upper bowl Pistons tickets (or two FREE lower bowl tickets for a $50 donation) to an upcoming select Pistons home game. This is wonderful deal that helps the community and gets you FREE Pistons Tickets and more!


To celebrate having over 600 Facebook Fans, go "LIKE" the FREEISMYLIFE Facebook Page and enter to win over $20 in coupons for FREE Food at your local grocery store.  The giveaway ends Friday at Noon.


Friday is the last public day to view Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties students' 6th - 12th grade science projects at the Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit.  This is one of the oldest and biggest science fairs in the country.  Come on down to Cobo Hall and support our youth by viewing their wonderful projects.


Friday is the opening night for the new Pewebic Pottery Exhibition "Romancing the Rustbelt".  This exhibit contains ceramics Inspired by our heroic industrial past.  The FREE reception starts at 6pm.

On Friday, a number of movies will have their opening day in Detroit including "Lincoln Lawyer", "Paul", "Kill the Irishman", and "Limitless". But which ones are really worth your hard earned money? Make sure to read movie reviews by our guest movie critique Liz Parker before you get your tickets. And Liz knows her movies. She predicted 10 out of 11 Oscar awards correctly this year!


On Saturday, take the kids to the FREE "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" event at your local Borders. There will be trivia, games and more based on the book.  The fun starts at 2pm.


Sunday is FREE Admission at the Detroit Historical Museum. In addition there will be docent-led tours of the signature exhibit the Streets of Old Detroit from Noon - 3 p.m.
