"Lunch Wars" by Amy Kalafa - How Nutritious is the Food at Your Kid's School?

Are You Ready for a School Lunch  Revolution?

What is in your child's school lunch?  If you don't know or have not thought about it, you are not alone.  When I was growing up, my mom did not let me eat lunch at school until I was in the 5th grade.  She made me come home to eat lunch because she did not like the mainly fried foods that my school served.  At the time, I thought she was being mean by not letting me eat the hot lunch. But now I know she was ahead of her time.

For the past few weeks, I have been reading the book "Lunch Wars: How to Start a School Food Revolution and Win the Battle for Our Children?s Health" (affiliate link) for the BlogHer Book Club.  This book is written by author Amy Kalafa, the producer and director of the award winning documentary "Two Angry Moms".  The book was written to give parents the tools to help them make a healthy change in what is being served to our kids at school.

Enjoy!
