Living for the (FREE) Weekend in metro Detroit - September 9th - 11th

Here is a list of the FREE and low cost activities that you can do in Detroit and beyond this weekend....

The movies "Warrior" and "Contagion" are opening in theaters on Friday. But are they any good? Don't spend your hard earned money until you read the movie reviews by guest movie critique Liz Parker. (REVIEW LINKS will go live at Midnight EST).

The movie  "X Men First Class" will be released on DVD on Friday. Make sure you read Liz Parker's review before you buy.

Pledge to Wear NFL gear on on Friday and you might win Tickets to the Detroit Lions Home Season Opener on 9/18.  This effort is to help support healthy eating and exercise for kids. So be sure to take the pledge and you may be standing on the sidelines at the first Detroit Lions game of the season.

Go to Macys on Friday and Saturday with this Macys Wow Pass and get $10 off $25 purchase before 1pm each day.  Can you say what a deal???

On Saturday, be sure to take the kids to the FREE Panera Family Fun Day at the Canton location where the kids will do crafts and local author Robin Morris will read from her kid's book "Mama Got Rhythm & Daddy Got Rhyme".

Also on Saturday, make sure you RSVP to take your kids to the FREE Lowes Build & Grow Workshop where the kids will be building a police car with a working flashing light.

On Sunday, Oakland County Parks and Recreation is offering FREE park entry to all guests in remembrance of September 11 and to honor armed forces and veterans.

And Sunday the entire family can get FREE Admission to Detroit Institute of Arts for Ford Free Sunday. In addition to FREE admission, you can be part of a new DIA program—Sunday Music Bar— which features acoustic music from a variety of cultures and styles, among them jazz, bluegrass, classical and folk.

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
