REVIEW: "Disney on Ice Presents: Princess Classics" at the Palace of Auburn Hills

One of the best photos that I took at Disney On Ice Princess Classics...
Classic Disney Magic...

This evening, my son and I went to see "Disney On Ice Presents: Princess Classics" at the Palace of Auburn Hills. My son and I love Disney On Ice, but this was the first show that we have attended that was "Princess" themed.  Even though every princess dress and tiara in Detroit was at the Palace and the phrases "true love" and "first kiss" were uttered hundreds of times, this Disney on Ice show was still funny and entertaining enough for both girls and boys.

The evening showcased classic moments from Disney’s Cinderella, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Most of the princess stories were told in abbreviated form, but the entire story of Cinderella was acted out from beginning to end.

My son's favorite moments involved anything "evil" which meant he loved the Wicked Step-Mother and Step-Sisters from the story of Cinderella and the Evil Queen from the story of Sleeping Beauty.  My favorite moment was seeing the Seven Dwarfs from the story of Sleeping Beauty. When they started singing and whistling "Hi Ho, Hi Ho" I was transported back to when I was my son's age and I saw my first Disney On Ice show.

Just a word of warning for all the Princess Tiana lovers. This show is about the "classic" Disney Princesses which means the story of "The Princess and the Frog" is not included.  I was disappointed not to see Princess Tiana, but the overall evening is still Disney Magic.
