TECH: Detroit is in the CES house with Ann Arbor based Hand-e-holder

The Ann Arbor based Hand-e-holder team show off their product at the CES...
Michigan technology born and breed ...

One of the more interesting things that happened to me while at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was that I went all the way to Vegas and discovered a little piece of Detroit at the conference.

I was minding my own business when...
I and Laura from LauraInTheMotorCity.com were walking through the one of the CES exhibition halls when we were stopped by Ann Arbor resident Mike Burns. Mike noticed that we were from Detroit by reading our media credentials and asked if we would be interested in learning more about a Detroit area based tech company. Of course we could not pass up his invitation since we Detroiters have to support each other.

It turns out that Mike is the president of a tech company called Hand-e-Holder which makes a unique iPad and tablet holder that straps to your hand or thigh and allows the device to rotate 360 degrees.  The Hand-e-Holder can also allow the tablet to be mounted into special stands. Mike told us he came up with the idea of the Hand-e-Holder when he almost dropped his brand new iPad within 15 minutes of removing it from the box. Once he came up with the idea for the holder, it only took 12 weeks from inception to production.

Hand-e-holder straps to the hand...
or the thigh...
Hand-e-Holder hearts Michigan!!!
Hand-e-Holder is manufactured exclusively in Michigan - YEAH! According to Mike "I feel strongly in getting Michigan back to work, so I'm dedicated to keeping this product manufactured here and to help as many Michigan companies as possible as our company grows.”
