Living for the (FREE) Weekend in Metro Detroit - June 4th - 6th

Tile from Detroit's Pewabic Tile Museum Store and Gallery celebrating 107 years

Here is a highlight of the FREE activities you can do this weekend in the metro Detroit area and beyond:

Friday is National Donut Day (who knew), so go to your local Krispy Kreme for a FREE donut (no purchase necessary) and/or to Dunkin' Donuts for a FREE donut with the purchase of a any drink. I think I'm getting hungry!

Starting on Friday and running through Sunday is the FREE celebration for the 107th anniversary of Pewabic Tile. Shoppers can enjoy facility tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., tilemaking demonstrations, museum and gallery exhibitions and talk to Pewabic designers. Additionally, door prizes will be given away each hour.

Also on Friday, two movies open in theaters, but you can read movie reviews here first for Get Him To The Greek (totally outrageous) and Splice (bloody and gory).

On Saturday, the FREE Detroit Main Library Author Series continues with Ken Brown - From Welfare to Faring. This native Detroiter, and youngest McD owner, shows that "life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.".

Also on Saturday, go to 12 Mile Crossing in Novi for their FREE music concert featuring the Gia Warner Duo. Bring your own chair for this classic rock and pop concert.

If you cannot get out on Saturday, why not watch the First Episode of Drop Dead Diva FREE on Amazon.com Video on Demand. This show is totally fabulous.

On Sunday at 2pm at Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills in the Duck Regatta where admission is free and includes a variety of family-friendly attractions, including climbing walls, inflatable play areas and free admission to the Cranbrook Institute of Science, which will offer special activities for visitors.

And Sunday is the last day to get an extra 20% off at the Coach Factory Outlet. There is nothing like the smell of a new handbag (at a bargain price).

Have a wonderful and blessed holiday weekend,
