Goodwill's "Donate for Jobs" Week 9/13-9/19 Canton, Livonia, Rochester Hills, Clinton Township, Detroit

Goodwill's "Donate for Jobs" Week starts TODAY!


Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit and its partners will host a week of events throughout Southeast Michigan that enable individuals to “donate for Jobs” in their area. Dubbed “Donate for Jobs” Week, regional businesses will hold donation events starting Monday, Sept. 13 and culminating with the Detroit Lions Home Opener on Sunday, Sept. 19, all to support Goodwill’s fight against unemployment. Cities hosting events and other opportunities include: Canton, Livonia, Rochester Hills, Clinton Township, and Detroit.

Goodwill’s “Donate for Jobs” Week of Events:

  • Summit on the Park (Sept. 13 to 19) - Canton’s Summit on the Park will become a temporary donation site for Goodwill Industries from Sunday, Sept. 12 to  Sunday, Sept.19 during business hours. The Summit, a premier recreation facility, is offering discounted membership pricing to individuals who donate.
  • Bon Ton “Stuff the Truck” Event (Beginning Sept. 15) - Bon-Ton and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit “stuff the truck” with clean, gently used clothing and household items. Donors will receive a “Goodwill Sale” coupon for 20 percent off apparel and 15 percent off cosmetics valid at participating Metro Detroit Parisian and Elder-Beerman stores. Goodwill’s “Donate for Jobs” branded truck will be on site in Livonia all day Wednesday. Donors can participate during business hours through Sept. 29 

    • Wednesday, Sept. 15 through Sept. 29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at: 

      • Parisian at Laurel Park in Livonia
      • Elder-Beerman in Howell
      • Parisian at The Village of Rochester Hills Mall in Rochester Hills
      • Parisian at Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township 
  • Eastern Market E-Waste Recycling and Donation Collection (Sept. 18) - Detroit Eastern Market will become a temporary gently used clothing/household item donation and computer recycling site for Goodwill Industries on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. The drop off site at Eastern Market is located on the corner of Wilkins and Orleans under Shed 6. Computer and computer equipment recycling is free of cost and proceeds will go towards Goodwill’s training and education programs.
  • Lions Home Opener (Sept. 19) – As part of a new partnership this year between the Detroit Lions and Goodwill, fans can donate gently used items during ALL Detroit Lions home games this season at Ford Field. The Goodwill “Donate for Jobs” truck will be parked in front of Ford Field and individuals who donate will receive a 20 percent coupon for use at the Lions store during nongame days.
The highest quality items collected during “Donate for Jobs Week” will be sold at Goodwill’s flagship Canton store, set to open this fall. Proceeds will go toward Goodwill’s employment training and education programs, which help local people earn jobs by becoming trained, trusted and ready to work. All donors will receive a tax donation slip.

Goodwill’s “Donate for Jobs” Week provides an entire week of opportunities for Southeast Michigan to help their unemployed friends and neighbors.
